I was crouched behind a corrugated wall as the Skulker rolled past, tail humming like a low alarm. You felt the map tilt—sudden silence, then a burst of lead from a blind angle. I learned two things in that minute: its wheels are everything, and patience wins fights against it.
On the ground you’ll notice Skulkers favor open edges before any building
They show up most often on Pendola Pass, skirting the map’s perimeter and loitering just outside shelters and doorways. If you play on Steam or coordinate through a Discord squad, expect them to pop during normal play or map conditions like Frigate or Redirection.

When you lock eyes with one, you’ll realize its legs are never hidden
That’s the short version: the Skulker’s weak points are always exposed. Its wheels are the damage windows you need to pry open—no waiting for it to stagger or flash.

Where is the Skulker most likely to appear?
Mostly at the edges of the new map and near cover—its AI keeps it mobile and just far enough to force you out of complacency. If you’re tracking spawn patterns on Steam servers, pendulum-like patrols are common.
I test loadouts so you don’t have to—here’s what worked
In dozens of runs I found light shields and high ARC-penetration weapons make the fight quick and clean. Think of the Skulker as a problem you trim, not a boss you trade blows with.

Shield and Augment: Bring a light shield and the Looting Mk. 1 augment if you’re hunting parts between objectives.
Weapons: Renegade, Bettina, Anvil, Osprey, or a Ferro with ARC-focused rounds chew through wheels fastest.
Healing: Bandages and a couple of shield rechargers are fine; this fight rarely drags long enough to need more.
Grenades & Gadgets: Seeker Grenades are particularly effective—bring two at minimum.
What weapons shred a Skulker’s legs fastest?
High ARC-penetration weapons win. I run Renegade or Anvil for single-target precision and Bettina when I want area suppression while my team focuses wheels.
Most players stand still and pay the price—move differently
Skulker fires in burst patterns from its tail; standing still is how it punishes you most.
- Aim for the Wheels: Target each wheel. Take them out one by one until the Skulker can’t roll. Skulker is a ghost on wheels—take away the wheels and the ghost can’t move.
- Keep Moving: Strafe and use cover. Its tail bursts are predictable if you don’t give it a static target.
- Finish the Head: After the wheels are down the head becomes exposed—finish it with everything you’ve got.
- Use Seeker Grenades: Toss them into wheel clusters to force a roll correction, then punish during the recovery window.
You’ll spot the parts scatter on the ground when it goes down

Break the chassis and the tail yields the special ARC part. I treat Skulker runs like quick reconnaissance: you get the rare targeter and reliable crafting materials for the Weapon Amplification System.
- Skulker Targeter (special loot)
- Heavy Ammo
- Advanced ARC Powercell
- ARC Thermo Lining
- ARC Coolant
- ARC Data Module
The Skulker Targeter can be placed to guard an area—think of it like laying a small automated minefield. Use it at choke points while your team secures objectives.
I’ve fought them in pub matches and private lobbies; they’re annoying but beatable if you treat the fight as a short puzzle: strip mobility, punish the head, take the parts. Are you willing to fight Skulkers the way a surgeon treats a stubborn wound?
