How Many Dudes? All Dude Types and Abilities Explained

How Many Dudes? All Dude Types and Abilities Explained

The last wave hit and my roster fell apart in a single breath — three healers gone, a Cowboy off-angle, and a single bad recruit decided the match. I counted the types afterward like someone counting damage numbers in the dark and realized one choice had cost me the run. I wrote this so you can stop losing because of a single bad pick.

I’ve run hundreds of matches, read strategy threads on the game’s Steam forum and the official Discord, and watched top players on YouTube. You’ll get the raw list here — names, abilities, and the ways they actually move a match — plus short, sharp notes on what each type means for your team. Think of certain Dudes as a Swiss army knife for specific problems; others are a house of cards if you stack them wrong.

Complete list of How Many Dudes? Dude types and abilities

I once watched a streamer draft three Cowboys and no healing, then lose because the roster couldn’t survive a cleave attack.

Below is the full roster. Read faster than you recruit: these lines are the difference between a tidy win and a clinic in regret.

Which Dude types should I recruit first?

I test early-game runs differently than late-game. You want sustain and utility early: Cleric, Medic, and Explorer handle emergency healing while Paladin and Knight take pressure off fragile carries. For community insight, check threads on Steam and guides on YouTube creators who track win rates; the game’s Discord often posts meta shifts after patches. If you bought the game on Steam for $9.99 (€10), the community resources are worth a skim before your next run.

How do Dude abilities interact in combat?

Abilities are mostly deterministic with chance elements — Taunts, Heals, and Damage storage all create state you can control by roster order and timing. Manager and General manipulate other types directly, so place them where they’ll hit the right subordinate. Use the Hacker, Quantum, and Electrician to multiply single-hit damage into concentrated bursts when you need a knockout.

Can I build a single-type synergy team?

Yes, but beware stacking Regulars or Revenant effects without a counter: buffed stacks can snowball, and then a single AoE clears you. Regular’s Mob Mentality rewards numbers, but without sustain or taunt you’ll fold fast; that’s the house of cards risk you don’t want to test under pressure. Successful single-type builds often pair with a hybrid anchor — a Frankendude or Paladin — to take the hits.

Want a short shortlist for the next recruit screen? Target Cleric/Medic for steady healing, Knight/Paladin for fronts, and a damage engine like Ranger or Wizard for cleanup. Watch patch notes on Steam, cross-check guides on Reddit, and follow a few creators on YouTube for evolving priorities.
