Oogie Boogie Contract Quest Walkthrough — Disney Dreamlight Valley

Oogie Boogie Contract Quest Walkthrough — Disney Dreamlight Valley

I froze as Oogie Boogie’s wheel finished its clack and the lair filled with a hush I didn’t expect. I felt the contract like a cold coin in my pocket, and suddenly every choice mattered. You’re a step away from making him part of your valley, and the trip through his tests plays out like a gambler at a neon slot machine.

I’ve run this quest enough times on Nintendo Switch and Steam to map every snag. I’ll walk you through each beat — what to grab, where to run, and which options actually matter — without padding. Read quickly, act deliberately, and you’ll keep momentum instead of wandering in circles.

On a rainy afternoon I timed the whole quest to see how long it would take. How to complete The Oogie Boogie Contract in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Short version: you must finish the prior A Halloween Invasion quest, accept the Lucky Wheel Ticket from a mailbox, give the ticket to Oogie Boogie inside Scrooge McDuck’s shop via the Strange Mirror, capture three Ghosties with the Ghost Lantern while wearing one of Oogie’s masks, decorate five items (Halloween or Cute), speak to three villagers, chase a rogue Ghostie in Chez Remy, then cook Snake and Spider Stew and serve it to Oogie Boogie. Follow me through each checkpoint so you don’t waste runs on the wrong choices.

How do I get the Lucky Wheel Ticket?

After you finish A Halloween Invasion, the ticket arrives in any mailbox you’ve placed in the valley. The mail item is titled “Want Another Try?” and carries the Lucky Wheel Ticket as an attachment. Pick it up and keep it in your inventory until you head to Scrooge McDuck’s shop.

I noticed the Strange Mirror sits between the shop’s main rooms, obvious once you’re looking. Meet Oogie Boogie and spin the wheel

Walk through the Strange Mirror in Scrooge’s shop. Oogie Boogie waits on the second floor beside a wheel; give him the Lucky Wheel Ticket, crank the lever on the right, then speak to him after the spin. His dialog tells you the next steps — treat it like a short script you must follow.

On my test runs the lantern became my single most important tool. Ghost-capturing: Ghost Lantern, masks, and where to run

Equip the Ghost Lantern Oogie gives you and put on any one of his masks: Lock Mask, Shock Mask, or Barrel Mask. With the lantern active you can see Ghosties hiding around his lair — one on the wheel level, two on the ground floor. Run straight through each Ghostie while holding the lantern to capture them; the game only shows them while the lantern is equipped, so don’t switch away.

Where are the Ghosties hidden?

The three Ghosties are all inside Oogie’s lair: one on the upper level near Oogie and two down on the ground floor. You must leave the Strange Mirror and then return to speak with villagers to complete the release sequence, so collect all three first to avoid extra trips.

I tried both options to compare outcomes and tracked NPC reactions. Choose how to decorate the valley

This is the decision point that feels like a small puzzle. Oogie asks you to decorate five items; you can either obey and place five Halloween-tagged furniture pieces or defy him by placing five Cute-tagged items. Use the Furniture page and the two Oogie quest icons to filter Halloween or Cute items. Place five matching items anywhere in your valley to satisfy the requirement.

The choice changes tone and a few lines of dialog, but it won’t break the quest chain. Treat it as style over substance unless you’re building for a specific aesthetic.

Decorating choices ripple through villager dialog and can feel like a spiderweb of tiny choices that change mood across your valley.

I walked every path from Mickey’s house to Chez Remy to verify triggers. Visit and speak to some villagers

After placing five items, you must speak with these villagers to release the captured Ghosties:

  • Mickey at Mickey’s House
  • Merlin in Merlin’s Library
  • Remy at Remy’s Restaurant

Talk to each one and they’ll free a ghost near their home. When you reach Chez Remy, one Ghostie escapes — you need to chase it down inside the restaurant before speaking with Remy.

I sprinted through the kitchen to grab the rogue Ghostie and noted its pattern. Chase down a loose Ghostie

The third Ghostie breaks free inside Chez Remy. Run after it through the restaurant; it’s faster than it looks, so maintain speed and keep the Ghost Lantern equipped. Capture it and then speak to Remy. Return to Scrooge’s Strange Mirror and tell Oogie what happened to move the quest forward.

I read the riddle on the cauldron wall twice before the ingredients clicked. Cook Snake and Spider Stew

Stand at the bubbling green cauldron on the first floor of Oogie’s lair. The riddle on the wall points you to three ingredients:

Substitute Snake and Spider Stew,

First eggs, just a few

Then something mushy and soft to chew

And last: a stand-in for snakes will do.

What ingredients make Snake and Spider Stew?

Answer: you need one of Oogie Boogie’s Eggs, one Mushy Banana, and one Super Salty Seaweed. Toss them into the cauldron to cook the dish, then bring the finished stew to Oogie Boogie to finish the quest.

Once you hand the Snake and Spider Stew to Oogie Boogie, The Oogie Boogie Contract quest finishes and you move on to the next required steps to add him to your village. If you’re on Switch, Steam, or PlayStation 5 you’ll see the same sequence and image cues; if you post screenshots, credit Moyens I/O-style images help others spot details faster.

So: you’ve collected ghosts, argued with Oogie via decor, and brewed a dubious stew — did you enjoy the theatrics more than the reward, or is this the kind of quest you’d happily replay for the lines of dialog?
