The first time I spawned into Paradox I had one character slot and no roadmap—just a blinking gate and a crowd of players already ahead. You can feel the pulse: bright abilities everywhere, and you standing at the menu deciding if you’ve already made a mistake. I want to cut through that sticky first hour and give you a clear route forward.
I’m a reporter who’s spent hours in Paradox testing steps, watching common traps, and noting what actually saves time. Read this like a short field manual: I’ll tell you what to do first, what to skip, and when to spend your precious items so you don’t regret it later.
Character Creation in Paradox
Observation: Most new players create a character, realize they can’t change race, and wish they’d read one sentence first.
You start Paradox with one character slot. You can get extra slots via codes or by paying 100 Robux (~€0.40) per slot. There are three races: Soul Reaper, Quincy, and Arrancar. Each race follows a different progression arc and ends with very different builds—so choose carefully because changing race requires wiping the slot.

Basic Controls in Paradox
Observation: I’ve seen players die because they never looked at keybinds once.
If you want to play smoothly, use the controls table below and remap keys if they feel awkward. The game supports PC, PS, and Xbox controllers; I recommend trying controller play if you have an Xbox or PS pad for movement and camera control comfort.

How to Redeem Codes in Paradox
Observation: Codes are often posted on Discord and YouTube while players miss them in-game.
Codes are the easiest way to grab Rerolls and free items. Open Settings in the top-left, switch to the Code tab, paste the code, and hit Redeem Code. Codes are case-sensitive and always full lowercase—miss one letter and it fails.

How do I redeem codes in Paradox?
Open Settings → Code tab, paste the code exactly, and click Redeem. Follow Moyens I/O or the Paradox Discord and YouTube creators like Shredsy to catch fresh code drops.
Soul Reaper Progression in Paradox
Observation: Soul Reaper players tend to follow NPC mission chains and finish tests with a small ritual.

Press , to show NPC locations. Head to the Division Trainer and grind missions. Early easy tasks: Scavenger Hunt (click pink squares) and Find The Impostor (deal with defenseless NPCs).
At 75 potential you must take the Soul Reaper exam. Go to the far right of Soul Society from the giant stairs, enter the yellow house, and sit in the last classroom on the left. Click these answers during the test:
- How many captains are in the Gotei 13?: 13
- What is the first evolution of a zanpakuto?: Shikai
- What is ‘Zangetsu’?: A Zanpakuto Spirit
- What is the primary duty of the Soul Reapers?: Protect the living world from Hollows
- Where do the Soul Reapers live?: Soul Society
- Who is the creator of the Hogyoku?: Kisuke
- What is the name of the game that you are playing?: Paradox
- What is 1 + 1: 2
After the test, spam missions until you get the Kisuke fight. Use the Gate skill (open your backpack with the key above Tab) to get to Katakura Town (KT). Beat Kisuke and keep doing missions to reach the next potential breakpoint.
Later you’ll need to meditate inside Soul Society: the first meditation is a simple click sequence (press 1–4), the second is an Osu Mania-style timing hit, and the third summons a fight with your Shikai—finish it to gain your Shikai special moves.
Quincy Progression in Paradox
Observation: Quincy players breeze through scripted fights if they use the bow properly.

The early route matches the Soul Reaper path: do missions until you hit the potential breakpoint. Then visit Digiki in Wandenreich to begin getting your Schrift.
First task: spar with Giselle to the left of Digiki. Use a bow (press V to switch) to trivialize her. After that, farm other Quincy for The Piece of Order—each Quincy has a 1 in 5 chance to drop it.
Return to Digiki and start the Schrift battles: three clone fights where a bow makes them easy. Beat your clones and you’ll gain your Schrift.
Arrancar Progression in Paradox
Observation: Arrancar progression is long and repetitive, and you’ll feel the grind acutely.

Start by killing about 15 Arrancar to go from Fishbone to Menos Grande. Continue killing to progress further—about 25 more to push through the next threshold. Use your critical (R) to snipe from range.
The brutal stretch is Menos Grande → Adjuchas → Vasto Lorde. Expect roughly 170 kills as an Adjuchas to hit Vasto Lorde. That’s a slow grind, like filling a bucket with a teaspoon. Solo this takes around two hours; a group halves that time. Once Vasto Lorde, hold Ctrl + K to remove your mask and become a Vastocar, then take missions at the Arrancar Hub near the Hueco Mundo castle.
The later Incomplete and Complete Resurrection stages take even longer; I’ll publish a separate guide focused on those mechanics after release.
Should You Use Rerolls Right Away in Paradox?
Observation: Players hoard rerolls or blow them instantly—both habits cause regret.

Short answer: use them. Rerolls are plentiful from codes. If you have multiple slots, spread rerolls so one slot doesn’t end up stuck with terrible attributes.
You can transfer items between slots using the Bank NPC in Katakura Town, so don’t panic if one character looks weak early—store and move items as needed.
Should I use rerolls immediately in Paradox?
Yes—unless you play many slots. If you do, pace the rerolls and keep the Bank NPC in KT handy for item transfers.
Stats (Skill Trees) in Paradox Explained
Observation: Players spend points in everything and end up with moves they never use.

There are four Stats (Skill Trees). Each stat unlocks a set of moves. When you raise a stat, the moves tied to it become possible outcomes when you use Skill Gems, Crystals, or Cores.
If you already own every move a stat can grant, using a Gem/Crystal/Core will do nothing. Save Cores (they give the most cards) for later and use only Gems and Crystals early on while you’re still collecting moves.
How many character slots do I get in Paradox?
You start with one slot. Get more by redeeming codes or paying for extra slots with Robux; remember the cost reads as 100 Robux (~€0.40) per slot in-game prompts.
How do I get better at the boss fights like Kisuke?
Practice your timing on the Feint (M2), Block (F), and criticals (R). Use the Gate to position for a safe approach, and watch creators like Shredsy on YouTube or guides on Moyens I/O for match-specific tricks.
There are two metaphors worth keeping in mind: the early menus are like a starter map with most roads blurred, and progression pacing can feel like a slow spoon feeding. Use this guide as a short list of priorities—missions, meditations, and the few fights that matter—and save your high-value items for when you need them on-grid.
If you want more specific builds, controller settings, or the Arrancar resurrection walkthrough I mentioned, I’ll publish follow-ups and video links on Moyens I/O and the Paradox Discord—what do you want me to cover next?
