Get All Memory Mania Critter Companions in Disney Dreamlight Valley

I froze in the middle of my garden when Joy popped up with a new task and the clock in the corner blinked red. You can feel the pressure when limited events show up—one missed week and a cute companion slips through your fingers. I’ll show you how to clear the checklist without wasting your evenings.

You can see the calendar on your console and know an event is live.

I’m speaking from the trenches: I’ve pushed through the Memory Mania grind across consoles and PC so you don’t have to guess which duty to prioritize. In 2026 the event drops six Critter Companions, including the new Deep Dark Secret Goose. If you missed previous runs, this is the safest rerun to collect older additions.

Here’s the short version you can act on right now: focus on the event duties tied to each emotion task, finish the Joy questline after all other tasks, and keep a Critter slot free so rewards don’t vanish into an overflow. You’ll be juggling gardening, foraging, digging, and fishing—so plan your day around the ones you can clear fastest.

How do I get all Memory Mania Critter Companions?

Start by opening the event hub where Joy posts duties. I recommend setting a timer for short runs: clear a foraging route, then flip to gardening and fishing. Complete the named duties shown in the table above, and finish Joy’s questline last—she only gives the Deep Dark Secret Goose after everything else is done.

  • Prioritize duties you can finish in under 15 minutes.
  • Keep one Critter slot free so rewards don’t overflow into storage.
  • If you own the Wishblossom Ranch DLC ($9.99 (€10)), grabbing the Goose is a bonus if you don’t already have a farm bird.

If you’ve ever swapped tools to shave minutes off chores, you already get why companions matter.

Each Critter Companion adds a small but reliable boost when you perform its specialty task. Their perks are like a Swiss army knife for chores—small edges pile into a big win over an event window.

What do the Memory Mania critters do?

  • Deep Dark Secret Goose — gardening gathering Companion. Useful if you don’t own the Wishblossom Ranch DLC and want a goose ally.
  • Nostalgia Capybara — foraging gathering Companion.
  • Envy Rabbit — gardening gathering Companion.
  • Ennui Raven — digging gathering Companion.
  • Embarrassment Turtle — fishing gathering Companion.
  • Anxiety Squirrel — foraging gathering Companion.

These bonuses are small multipliers and occasional item finds—think quality-of-life wins that speed completion. I tested routes on PC (Steam/Epic) and consoles; the behavior is consistent across platforms thanks to Gameloft’s updates.

Event timing shapes how you plan your week.

For 2026, the Memory Mania event runs from Sept. 16 to Sept. 29. That’s two weeks—enough time if you prioritize and run efficient routes.

When is the Memory Mania event available?

Some event missions will show progress outside the window, but the duties tied to these Critters are only completable when Joy’s event is active. Historically Memory Mania has returned yearly, and I expect it to come back in 2027—return each year like a calendar alarm—so if you miss a specific critter this run you’ll probably get another chance.

If you play on PC, Steam or Epic, the event behaves the same as on consoles thanks to Gameloft’s cross-platform patches; community guides on Discord and Reddit often post optimized routes the first day the event drops—use those if you want a copy of my route tested on Switch.

Which companion are you going after first—will you tend a garden with a goose or fish with a turtle?
