I froze behind a rusted rail car as the ring shifted under my feet. The download bar crept up while enemies spawned, and I realized the map I wanted wasn’t listed anywhere yet. I had three little hotspots to find before the next run would change.
I played through the sequence so you don’t have to guess. I’ll walk you straight to each wreck, tell you what to watch for, and give the small tricks that keep you alive when the ring starts moving. Think of this as a field note from someone who’s cleared the objective on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation and chatted strategy on Reddit and Discord.
Most players miss the three unmarked train wrecks — here’s where they sit
There are three train wreck sites you must visit to get access to the Far Far North map from Far Far West. They don’t show up on the mini-map or mission selector, so if you skip one, the new map won’t appear.
- Far West
- Canyon
- Area 41
How do I get the Far Far North map in Far Far West?
Talk to the Railroad Worker at each wreck and complete the ring-based objective until the black box download hits 100%. Do that for all three wrecks and the Far Far North option will show on next mission selection. If you’re on PC via Steam or checking community guides on Moyens I/O, you’ll see the same workflow repeated by streamers and forum posters.
Far West Train Wreck location

Go to the green logo shown above. You’ll find a derailed train and a Railroad Worker. Start the small quest, then stand in the colored ring on the ground. The ring moves on a rhythm the moment enemies spawn — the ring is a metronome of danger.

If you’re in a group, assign one player to anchor the ring while others handle adds and revives. I cleared this solo by prioritizing the ring and only stepping out to heal when I was nearly dead. The trick is patience: stand, fight, repeat.
Where are the train wrecks located?
The three sites sit across distinct maps, so you’ll need each area accessible before you can complete the full sequence. Two of them are straightforward; one needs Area 41 to be opened first.
Canyon Train Wreck location

Find the orange icon in the screenshot and talk to the Railroad Worker there. The objective is identical: follow the moving ring, clear the waves, and let the download finish. The mechanic is consistent across maps, so practice on this one if you want a safer run.
Do I need a party to finish a train wreck?
No. You can complete each wreck solo. A party speeds things up and provides safety nets for revives and crowd control, but a single competent player can hold the ring, manage healing, and finish the download. Streamers on Twitch often run these solo to show the exact ring movement, which can be helpful if you prefer video guides.
Area 41 Train Wreck location

You must have Area 41 available in your progression to reach this one. Talk to the worker at the marked spot, stand in the ring, and wait for the transfer to finish. Each wreck is a burned-out star on the map — clear all three and the Far Far North option will appear the next time you launch a mission.

When each download reaches 100%, extract to the Saloon safely. After you complete all three and start a new mission, Far Far North will be available as an option. If you prefer watching a visual walkthrough, check creators on YouTube or threads on the official Steam community for timestamped clips that match these screenshots.
Ready to run the wrecks and see whether Far Far North really changes the game balance — or are you planning to farm each site first for loot and XP?
