ARC Raiders’ Frozen Trail: Pendola Pass & 3 New Enemy Types

ARC Raiders' Frozen Trail: Pendola Pass & 3 New Enemy Types

I climbed onto a sun-warmed balcony in a frozen Italian marketplace and found a metal giant half-buried where merchants once shouted prices. You would expect salvage and silence; instead gunfire and scavenger bots turned the plaza into a stomping ground. That moment told me Frozen Trail might be the update that forces a reckoning.

The square still smells of espresso and diesel — Pendola Pass is a small transport town grafted into a mountain valley and built around a corpse of an Emperor ARC

Walk its narrow alleys and you find stacked crates, shuttered cafés, and loot-strewn alcoves. The centerpiece is the Emperor ARC — a hulking frame that sits like a beached leviathan in the plaza — and that carcass will change how matches open and close.

This map favors quick decisions. If you push the ARC, expect other teams to contest it; if you sit back, someone else climbs and renovates your loss into gear. Pendola Pass has been mostly untouched so far, which means fresh spawns and a high density of consumables for players who take risks.

A dockside frigate cuts the skyline — a new patrol ARC called the Frigate will sweep the map and offer a maze of interior paths

The Frigate is a mobile fortress that roams around Pendola Pass and dares you to climb aboard. Inside, corridors and puzzles fold into each other; its interior functions like a clockwork spider, and players who reach the engine rooms will find high-value gear.

But the Frigate is not a loot piñata. It carries a big-arena risk: turrets, traps, and the new Hydra turret system that can lay down sustained fire. If you want the rewards, your team must be ready to split attention and bait shots while another player finds cover and moves in.

What is Pendola Pass and why does it matter?

Pendola Pass is both a loot hotspot and a conflict magnet. The town’s compact sightlines encourage sudden bursts of contact, while the Emperor ARC and Frigate create focal points that change how squads move across the map.

If you like high-stakes gambles, you’ll treat Pendola like a resource node. If you prefer conservative play, there are flanking routes and rubble fields that let you skirt fights and gather supplies.

The update adds Bully, Skulker, and Hydra enemies, each changing the rhythm of engagements.

  • Bully: A machine-learned aggressor that charges and trades hard. Use cover and timed shots; it punishes hesitation.
  • Skulker: Opportunistic and patient. It fades from sight and snaps back for a nasty combo if you stop watching your flanks.
  • Hydra: A stacked turret system found on the Frigate. It can threaten squads from multiple angles and needs team tactics to neutralize.

Will Frozen Trail bring players back to ARC Raiders?

I don’t answer that with optimism or pessimism alone — I look at signals. Steam Charts and community hubs like Reddit and Discord already track spikes after content drops. If the update creates repeatable tension (and rewards) every match, it will nudge lapsed players to return.

New weapons, Amplified Weapon upgrades for late-game customization, the Stilletto battle rifle, Bantam revolver, and gadgets such as the Grappling Hook and Tether Launcher give players concrete reasons to re-engage. The real test is retention: are these systems fun enough to keep you logging in after the first thrill?

I’ll be re-downloading ARC Raiders on Oct. 8 to test how these pieces fit together and I’ll watch community reaction on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation channels. The trailer is embedded below if you want the direct look.

So — will Pendola Pass and the new enemies be the spark that reignites the player base, or just another seasonal rush that fades by November?
